Bangalore, June 2 (IANS) She has worked in all the four south Indian film industries but veteran actress Suhasini Ratnam says that she got huge fame and popularity by working in Kannada films.

"I have been acting for more than 25 years and have worked in all the four Southern languages. But it is in the Kannada films that I got huge recognition and variety of roles," said Suhasini who is presently playing a banker in "Eradaneya Maduve".

"I got three filmfare awards for my performances in Kannada films 'Benkiyalli Aralidha Hoovu', 'Bandhana' and 'Amrutha Varshini'. I have got lot of appreciation for my performances in many Kannada films. In fact, I got the best roles of my career in Kannada films. I stay in Chennai but my heart is beating for Kannada films," she added.

Directed by Dinesh Baboo "Eradaneya Maduve" is a comedy and Suhasini has teamed up with talented actor Anant Nag in it.

"Anant Nag and Vishuvardhan sir are two of the best actors with whom I have worked. In 'Eradaneya Maduve', I'm also working with many talented youngsters of Kannada films. I enjoyed working for the film," she said.

"Eradaneya Maduve" has already completed 22 days shooting in Bangalore. Suhasini has also completed the dubbing work for the film.

The actress, who wielded the megaphone for Tamil film "Indira" and television serials, said she would be taking up direction in a couple of months.

"I'm getting ready with a script. Vishnuvardhan sir has always been telling me to take up direction. I may take up a film in the year 2010," said Suhasini.

Suhasini's directorial venture "Indira" dealt with the issue of casteism, but it didn't fare well at the box office. The actress, however, got appreciation for the neat narrative.

Suhasini has also directed teleserials like "Penn" in Tamil. Later she directed an episode for Revathy's home production. She has also co-directed the tele-serial "Ganesh-Vasanth".
