Bangalore, Feb 28 (IANS) "Tuttoori", a children's film in Kannada, will be competing in all the major forthcoming international film festivals, including Cannes and Cairo, if its makers have their way.
"Tuttoori", produced by actress Jayamala and directed by P. Seshadri, won the viewers' award in the children's section at the Ninth International Film Festival in Dhaka last month. It was the only Kannada film to be shown in the nine-day festival.
Jayamala and Seshadri could not attend the festival. They got the good news about their film's performance on the telephone.
They are still awaiting responses from the organisers of the Cannes and Cairo film festivals.
Jayamala had earlier produced "Thayi Saheba", directed by pioneering Girish Kasaravalli, which won the National Award for best film as well as an award for Jayamala.
