Bangalore, June 14 (IANS): "Kanakambari" will be the first digital film to be made in Kannada.

It will also be a rare horror film shot in the deep interiors of Hassan district in Karnataka. Little wonder that the entire Kannada film industry is waiting with bated breath to see how it fares at the box office.

Though shooting went on for just a month, post-production work took considerably longer.

Producer Shylendra Babu, who made the highly successful "Kutumba" last year, said he was happy about the finished project though he was not pleased about the post-production delay.

He said the graphics and the sound work would offer new possibilities in this genre of filmmaking.

Director Dinesh Babu, who hardly knows any Kannada despite working in the industry here for over 15 years, said three high-definition cameras were used.

Anu Prabhakar, who plays the leading role in the film, said it was her first horror film.

"There were no camera sounds and many a time I was surprised to know that the shot had already been taken. I had to turn my face several times during shooting and did not know the reason for the director's instructions. But after seeing the graphics, I understand how the story is narrated," she said.

Om Prakash Rao, who stars as a police officer in the film, said he was very happy to have worked in a film directed by Dinesh Babu for whom he has a lot of respect.
