'Jyeshta': another 'Aaptha Mitra' for Vishnu?
Dec 6, 2004 R.G. Vijyasarathy, Dec 7The audio of the film has already been released to a good response with two songs of the film topping the charts.
The producers of the film are 'Soorappa' Babu and Kamalakar, who have earlier produced huge hits with Vishnuvardhan like "Soorappa" and "Kotigobba". The combination, however, could not repeat the success in their previous film "Kadamba".
Suresh Krishna, director of "Kadamba", is directing "Jyeshta" too.
The film is the story of five brothers who want to remain united despite their many problems.
Ashima Bhalla of Mumbai, who has acted in the Tamil films "Ramana" and "Allauddin" as well as in the Telugu film "Chappave Chirugaali", is the heroine of "Jyeshta".
The film has been shot mainly in Mysore and Bangalore. The song sequences have been shot in Udagamandalam and Chikkamagalur.
"Jyeshta", according to Krishna, is a package film which contains all the commercial ingredients in the right proportions. This is his second directorial venture in Kannada. "I will not say more about the film than that it has action, sentiment and comedy in a right mix," he says, adding that it is based on the Mahabharata.
Babu, who has produced three films with Vishnu, says that "Jyeshta" is the best of the lot content-wise. "The climax scene is touching and will go deep into the minds of the audience. A strong message is also sent through the film to the audience that there is no use continuing quarrels."
According to Babu, the film's songs are of "a high quality as proved by the success of the audio". He adds: "Since the picturisation of the songs is also good, I expect the audio sales to increase after the film's release."
All films featuring Vishnu and Devaraj together have become huge hits. In "Jyeshta" Vishnu plays the eldest brother, and Devaraj one next to him among five siblings. Sourav, Anirudhdh and Anand play the other brothers in the family.
