'Jothe...' becomes Harikrishna's dream debut
Dec 28, 2006 R.G. VijayasarathyThe top five Kannada albums are:
1. "Jothe Jotheyalli" - This is a dream debut for first time music composer V. Harikrishna, who was so far assisting Ravichandran. "Oh, gunavantha", "Barthaare barthaare" and the title song are the most popular songs of the album.
2. "Sevanthi Sevanthi" - Can you imagine that the film was released eight months ago and its audio is still selling like a hot cake? The reason for the album's success lies in the charm of folk songs set to new tunes. Music director S.A. Raj Kumar has relied more on melody. "Jaaji mallige hoovu" is a chartbuster.
3. "Neelakanta" - Ravichandran has composed the music for the just released film. "Malla malla" and "Ammammammo" have become big hits.
4. "Mungaaru Male" - With this, Mano Murthy retains his reputation for consistency as a creator of popular music. "Pnde ondu saari" and "Kunidhu kumidhu baare" have proved particularly catchy.
5. "Thananam Thananam" - The film's songs have become popular after the release, though the film itself has not been able to attract crowds. The telecast of songs has helped in pushing the audio sales.
"Kande kande gopalana", "Chelvaantha Rajakumara" and "Koogalatheya dooradalli" are popular numbers. Lyricist K. Kalyan has proved his skills as a composer with the album.
