I'd like to work under the direction of Uppi: Priyanka
Sep 23, 2009 RGVLast time she was seen in Kannada film H20 which had Upendra and Prabhu Deva in the lead. Sreemathi is being produced by Shankare Gowda and directed by Sampath.
Priyanka was working in Bengali films even after marrying Upendra, but she had not accepted any offer to work in Kannada films. She plays the role of a woman lawyer who fights for restoring the honour of her husband in Sreemathi.
Though Sampath, the director of the film claims that Shreemathi has been inspired by the Hollywood flick Disclosure, it is clearly known that the producer has already taken the remake rights of Hindi film Aithraaz starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
"I really want to work in a film to be directed by Uppi. I have seen all his directorial ventures and have really liked them. Uppi's films will revolve around some revolutionary ideas and it will have the stamp of excellence. Uppi has also excelled as a writer in his ventures. I am looking forward for a role in his next directorial venture," says Priyanka. However she is also happy about the role in Sreemathi which has given her a platform for a good performance.
Incidentally, Priyanka will be busy now with preparations for her husband Upendra's birthday on September 18. Upendra's new film Rajini directed by Thriller Manju and produced by Ramu is being released on that day much to the delight of Priyanka.
