Bangalore, Nov 10 (IANS) The Kannada film "Mohini 9448858888", currently in the making, was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock - the legendary suspense maestro of Hollywood, director S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu said.

Babu told reporters here that his new film with the intriguing title would be his tribute to Hitchcock.

The film was launched last week with Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh as chief guest and director Mani Ratnam switching on the camera for the first shot.

Babu's son Audithya plays the lead actor, a playboy who tries to solve the mystery, while the glamorous Sada, the heroine, will play a crime reporter.

Also in the cast are Ramesh Arvind, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Komal Kumar, K.S.L. Swamy and Bullet Prakash.

"I have taken nearly a year to write the script. Sound plays an important role in the narration and suspense is maintained until the end," said Babu.

The film, jointly produced by Babu and A. Mohan, will be shot in three monthly schedules from November to January.

Babu is also planning a new film - "Krishnegowdana Aane" - based on a novel by Poornachandra Tejaswi.
