Bangalore, Oct 16 (IANS): Guru Kiran has bagged the top three slots in Kannada music. His name seems to guarantee brisk sales for film audios, whether pre-release or post-release.

1. "Aaptha Mithra": The film's huge box-office success has made its audio a hit as well. The song "Raa raa sarasaku raa" is on the lips of many film fans these days. Guru Kiran's music is mainly responsible for the success.

2. "Onkaara": The audios were nearly sold out even before the film hit the screen due to the heady combination of super-star Upendra and music director Guru Kiran. The pair had provided popular music in films like "Upendra", "Kutumba" and "Hollywood". "Sootu bootu kaaridhre" and "Oththlaa oththlaa" have topped charts ever since the audio release.

3. "Mourya": Though the film has not yet been released, its audio cassettes are selling fast. The charisma of the film's hero Puneet Raj Kumar and the proven record of director S. Narayan, whose films have always boasted of good music, are the reasons behind the good audio sales. The music has been scored by Guru Kiran, who composed for earlier Puneet Raj Kumar's films like "Appu" and "Abhi". "Machchalli kochchodilla", written by Upendra and sung by Puneet Raj Kumar, and "Pilla pilla" sung by Udit Narayan and Chitra have become popular songs.

4. "Sahukaara": The audio has not created great interest because the songs have the same tunes as the Tamil hit "Muthu", of which "Saahukaara" is a re-make. "Thunta Thunta" and "Obbane yajamaana" have become popular songs.

5. "Kalasi Palya": This Darshan-Rakshitha-starrer is being produced by Ramu, known for big-budget extravaganzas. Music directors Sadhu Kokila and Venkat-Narayan have scored the music for three songs each. Sadhu Kokila has lifted the tune of popular song "Manmadha Raja" from a Tamil film. This has already led to a legal wrangle. Since there are no other audios flooding the market, the audio is doing good business.
