'Gaja' crowned top Kannada film of fortnight

Bangalore, Feb 7 (IANS) A remake of the Telugu hit "Bhadra", director Maadesh's "Gaja" has turned out to be a real entertainer and dominates the Kannada film chart this fortnight.


The top five films are:


1. "Gaja" - The film is running in its fourth week with good collections all around. According to trade reports, "Gaja" is a hit as the film's collections have crossed Rs.10.4 million in Bangalore and Rs.4 million in Mysore, which is by far a record-breaking collection.


2. "Galipata" - Made with a budget of Rs.70 million, the film's collections in its third week indicate that the producers and distributors will be make good profit.


3. "Milana" - This Puneet Raj Kumar starrer has just completed 150 days. The lack of good films released after its opening has helped its box collections. But with too much competition, the film may not continue its dream run.


4. "Ee Bhandana" - The film has completed 50 days of its run in some major centres. The film is much appreciated by the family audience. The best collections of the Vishnuvardhan starrer, directed by first time director Vijayalakshmi Singh, has come from Mysore where it is running in four theatres.


5. "Aa Dinagalu" - The film has completed a 100-day run and continuing its victory march. The highlights of the film are Ilayaraja's music and the narration.
