Four Upendra films to hit screens

Bangalore, Feb 6 (IANS): Until recently Kannada superstar Upendra's policy was to sign only one film at a time. Now four of his films are scheduled for release in as many months.

The Upendra season begins in earnest with the forthcoming release of "News", a film that has been eagerly awaited because it showcases the star's new look.

Upendra's co-stars in "News" are the beautiful Rima Sen and Renuka Menon. Three of the film's songs have already become chart-toppers.

But Upendra is still to dub for the film, though post-production work on "News" is already finished.

Another film, "Uppi Dada M.B.B.S." - a remake of the Sanjay Dutt hit "Munnabhai M.B.B.S.", has about 20 days of filming left.

Upendra also stars in Shailendra Babu's "Gowramma", directed by Naganna, which might be released before "Uppi Dada M.B.B.S.".

Shooting for Ramu Enterprises' "Auto Shankar" is also under way. Its director, D. Rajendra Babu, hopes to release this Upendra starrer in May.

A source close to the superstar told IANS that Upendra had changed his one film policy because of delays in movie releases and disruptions in shooting schedules.
