Film industry welcomes state government's decision

The decision of the Karnataka Government to invoke the Goonda Act for the audio and video piracy has been welcomed by the Kannada film industry.


Sandesh Nagaraj, the President of the Kannada film producers says that the film producers are happy about the state government's decision to invoke the Goonda Act on the audio and video piracy. ''We are sure that this is the step in the right direction, but we are unable to assess the benefit accruals to the producers as we have to watch how this act is to be implemented" said Nagaraj.


H.D.Gangaraj, the President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce says that the state government's decision has fulfilled a long standing demand of the film industry.


Veteran Kannada film producer Ms. Parvathamma Raj Kumar has also hailed the decision of the state government and hoped the implementation of the act will curb the video and audio piracy to the maximum extent.
