'Excuse Me' topping charts again - Kannada Music

Bangalore, Aug 2 (IANS): The Kannada film "Excuse Me" remains a hot favourite with movie buffs, with the music topping the charts as well.The top 5 Kannada albums this time are: 1. "Excuse Me", 2. "Monalisa", 3. "Sarvabhouma", 4. "Kanti" and 5. "Malla".


"Excuse Me": The film is nearing a 250-day run in Bangalore and the audio is also growing in popularity. Ashwini Audio recording company, which has the marketing rights for the music, is excited with its success. Sales of the audio have been increasing since the film completed a undred-day run. Music director R. P. Patnayak has now become a craze in the Kannada film industry. Three songs of the film have been topping the charts for many weeks.


"Monalisa": The music of the film played a major part in transforming its fate at the box office. The sales of its audio have set records. Music directors Babji-Sandeep, who had changed their combined name to Valisha-Sandeep, have struck gold. The picturisation of songs has helped. The title song and "Car Car Huduga Bandha" are the top numbers.


"Sarvabhouma": The popularity of the audio has increased after the song sequences were shown on the satellite channels. Veteran music director Hamsalekha has once again proved that he is a great survivor. The song "Karunaadina Koravanji", composed in a folk style, is a chart-topper.


"Kanti": The audio sales were good even before the film's release. Guru Kiran has always been a popular composer. However, the film's release three weeks ago has affected the sales, and the market for the audio has seen a downward trend. "Baanalli Baa Chandira' is the song that TV viewers are hooked on to.


"Malla": The audio sales of the film were extraordinary even before the film's release. This is the first time that the audio of a film, for which actor-director Ravichandran composed music, has become a huge hit. The film's popularity in the B centres has enhanced the cassette sales in the rural areas.
