Catherine, the new girl on the block

B'lore, Nov.7 (NR): Catherine Tresa, the Bangalore based model is now acting with Vijay in the film Shankar IPS which will be an action based thriller.

"I have modeled for Nellai Silks, Chennai Silks, Fast Track, Jasco Jewellers, your own news paper Deccan Chronicle. I have also shot for Srikantadatta Wodeyar's Maharaja Calendar. And I have been participating in many ramp shows in many cities," says Catherine looking excited about her first film project in Kannada. She feels that Shankar IPS would provide her the perfect platform to work in more number of Kannada films to prove her talents as an actress.

Glamorous Catherine is born to Malayali parents and was brought up in Dubai. She is now staying in Bangalore. Excited about her role in the film, Catherine said that she plays the role of a very good looking bright girl who wants to become a beauty pageant winner and help the needy people. She wants to win Miss India Pageant and create a platform to reach out the depressed people. But politics robs her the opportunity to participate in the pageant when the hero helps her.

Incidentally, Catherine was one of the ten finalists who had participated in the Miss India beauty pageant last year.

Talking about the sequence where she has to wear swim suit in the film, Catherine said that it is not a big deal now as every other Kannada film heroine is wearing a swim suit these days. "I am wearing it for this film mainly because it is part of the story of the film. Some people were heard telling me how is that I wear a bikini dress in this film. I told them that every beauty pageant contestant has to participate in the swim suit category and that is just part of the pageant's many segments. Since the particular sequence is part of the story, I don't mind wearing it. I think I can carry off very well in wearing a swim suit and that could be seen in the film as well," says Catherine.
