Bangalore, Nov 15 (IANS): Diwali and festival-time releases have made no difference to the continuing record run of three-month-old "Aaptha Mithra" at theatres in Karnataka.

1) "Aaptha Mithra": The film is on the verge of creating big collection records. Even as it has progressed to its 12th week, collections have not dropped and family audiences are flocking to theatres screening the film.

The collections from the theatres in Bangalore city alone are expected to exceed Rs.20 million. The film is expected to complete 100 days in over 16 theatres. It is doing brisk business in semi-urban theatres also.

2) "Kalasi Palya": The film has completed four weeks and has been getting a good response during the Diwali holidays. Though the film is action-oriented, a large chunk of its audience comprises youths who normally prefer love stories and musicals.

Ramu Films, which has produced the film, is reaping rich rewards. The film's lead stars, Darshan and Rakshitha, have been major beneficiaries. Rakshitha has become extremely busy since the film's release.

3) "Mourya": The film's collections crossed the Rs.10-million mark in Bangalore city theatres in its first three weeks. Though it is a remake of Telugu hit "Amma Naanna Oka Thamil Ammaayi", the film has achieved greater success than its original. This is because of the large-scale support of the family audience. Puneet has, once again, proved his charisma.

4) "Nalla": The film has had a fantastic opening. It received good reviews. Its music is a hit. Because of its emotional appeal, the film may attract more women viewers in the coming weeks. The performances of lead stars Sudeep and Sangeetha have been much appreciated.

5) "Onkaara": The film had a bumper opening, but after three weeks collections have started falling. The quality of the film has not matched audience expectations. Its weak story and music have not helped.

Upendra, however, has proved that he is a big draw in the initial two or three weeks of any film.
