Bangalore to host international film festival from December 22

Bangalore will host a week-long International Film Festival (IFFB 2006), beginning on Dec 22 which promises a big treat for the city's film buffs.


More than one hundred films in different languages, produced in different parts of the world are to be screened in this festival. The films will be screened in prestigious cinema houses like Thribhuvan, Kailash and Movieland-three prominent theatres in the heart of the city. Suchithra Film Society is organizing this festival in collaboration with the state department and other sponsoring companies.


This was disclosed in a press conference by the organizers. Well known film director Girish Kasaravalli and Vidyashankar, President of the Suchitra film Society addressed the media conference along with V.N.Subbarao, President of the organizing committee of the festival.


Best of the films of the Contemporary World Cinema, Classics of World Cinema, Contemporary Indian Cinema and Classics of Indian films will be featured along with some of the Best Kannada films in this festival. The festival is dedicated to the memory of Kannada Movie Icon, the legend of the Indian cinema.


A retrospective of the best Kannada films that were released in the last seventy years will be screened in the Movieland theatre.
