Bangalore, Aug 19 (IANS): Audio sales of "Monalisa" have been on the upswing since the film's release 100 days ago, which is not surprising as the music is the film's forte.

The following are the five top Kannada albums:

1. "Monalisa": The music by Valeesha Sandeep is the film's forte. Audio sales have been on the upswing ever since the film's release 100 days ago. The film's title song and "Car Car Huduga Bandha" have occupied the top slot for many weeks.

2. "Aaptha Mithra": Guru Kiran's music is a major highlight of the last film of multilingual actress Soundarya, killed in a tragic accident four months ago. The audio has been getting a huge response ever since its release. The songs "Pata Pata Gali Pata" and "Kalavannu Aleyoru Yaaroo Illaa" have become extremely popular.

3. "Onkaara": The audio has generated interest only because this is the first Upendra film in nine months. Guru Kiran is the music director, and the Upendra-Guru combine has always been a sure seller. "Nangaa Naach - Othhu Othhu" is already the most asked-for song on satellite channels.

4. "Sahukaara": This remake of Tamil hit "Muthu" has copied the tunes of the original, but still the audio is selling. The film features Ravichandran, whose two earlier films have become big hits. Another plus point for the film is that it also has Vishnuvardhan in an important role. The song "Thillaana Thillaana" seems to be catching on.

5. "Excuse Me": Eight months after the film's release, the audio is still much sought after. It is for the first time that Telugu film's popular music director R. P. Patnayak has scored for a Kannada film. The songs are a major attraction of the film, which ran for 225 days. The title song, "Preethi Antha Praana Thinno", and "Sorry" are the top numbers.
