Ashwini Ram Prasad gearing up for film production

Ashwini Ram Prasad of Ashwini Audio is all set to venture into film production shortly. The debacle of 'Preethi Eke Bhoomi Ellidhe' directed by Prem and produced by the Ashwini Group was a setback to this corporate group which had earlier produced a block buster film like 'Jogi' with Shivaraj Kumar in the lead.

Ram Prasad had then decided to concentrate on his core business of audio marketing and had obtained the audio rights of films like 'Gaja', 'Galipata' which were audio block busters. Now, Ram Prasad is busy scouting stories for two new Kannada films which he proposes to produce this year.

"I am discussing story ideas with two young directors and it would be too premature to give details about this project. One of the projects would be directed by a young Telugu film director who has already proved his talents in the Telugu film industry. Now, I will launch a new film only if there is a fully bound script," says Ashwini Ram Prasad.

Ram Prasad said that many factors had contributed to the disastrous flop of 'Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe', including the loss of focus during the production.

"The film took a fairly long time to complete. I think I am also responsible for the film's failure as much as Prem who directed the film. I fell sick and I was not able to show active interest in production related activities as I had shown during the making of 'Jogi'. The shooting schedules went haywire and the selection of two unprofesstional heroines did not help us. There is no point in discussing about these issues now. It is better to look forward and that is exactly what I am doing now. If every thing falls into place, I may very well launch a new film in April or May," says Ram Prasad.
