Mar 9, 2006 R.G. VijayasarathyThe top five Kannada Albums are:
1. "Anna Thangi" - Music director Hamsalekha has returned to Kannada cinema with a bang. With the success of this album he has proved again that he is the best bet as far as sentimental films go.
2. "My Autograph" - Actor-director Sudeep made a wise decision by retaining the tunes of the Tamil original "Autograph" in the Kannada remake. The appeal of Bharadwaj's tunes has been enhanced by the meaningful lyrics of Kalyan. "Savi savi nenapu" and "Araluva hoovugale aalisiri" are chart-busters.
3. "Suntaragaali" - This Darshan-Rakshitha starrer, directed by Sadhu Kokila, had a big audio release bash. Though the film is getting just a break-even response at the box office, the audio has been doing well so far. "Ninnaane ninnaane" and "Ne Nannatve Belakangidhe Nanju" are popular.
4. "Amruthadhare" - The film has completed a silver jubilee run and its audio continues to sell briskly. Meaningful lyrics by Nagathihalli have contributed to the popularity of the melodious tunes. "Mane katti nodu, maduve maadi nodu" and "Huduga huduga" are on the lips of music-lovers.
5. "Ambi" - The film directed by popular lyricist Nagendra Prasad and featuring young Audithya in the lead is yet to be released. But the music is already making waves. A song on Lord Shiva has the potential to be a hit.
