Ambareesh remembers Raj Kumar

At his first public function after becoming union minister of state for information and broadcasting, popular Kannada film actor M.H. Ambareesh remembered legendary actor Raj Kumar, saying he would have loved to have the matinee idol as well as his parents on the dais.

"My parents had always considered me a good-for-nothing, though my mother saw the progress I made in films. But Dr. Raj Kumar always asked me when I would become a minister. His question is answered today, but he is not with us," said Ambareesh in a choked voice.

The function was organised by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and attended by a large number of film dignitaries.
