'Aaptha Mithra' audio lead the charts
Mar 5, 2005 R. G. Vijayasarathy, Mar 51."Aaptha Mithra": The audio sales of the film were slow to begin with, but soon caught up with the film becoming a hit. The CD sales have also done well. The songs "Pata Pata Gali Pata" and "Raa Raa" have become hits.
2. "News": The marketing of the audio was spectacular even before the film's release. The picturisation of the two popular songs - "Naanu Jithendra, Neenu Siridhevi" and "Preethi" have helped in the audio's popularity. Any film with Upendra in the leading role and Guru Kiran as music director is bound to create ripples, and so is its audio.
3. "Aham Premasmi": Though the songs are widely appreciated, it has been difficult to get a near-factual report of the audio and CD sales. This is because the cable operators have done the marketing. Ravichandran's films and music have always been well received and the title song and "Pullinga" have become hits.
4. "Ayya": Action hero Darshan's films are enjoying a good response, and this has been reflected in the rise in audio sales as well. "Kalasi Palya" set the trend last year, and now "Ayya" has consolidated it. "Tabala Tabala" has become a popular song.
5. "Kalasi Palya": The film is moving towards its silver jubilee. The audio sales have already created a record. The lone popular song "Suntaragaali" has been lifted from the hit Tamil song "Manmatha Raja" of the film "Thiruda Thiruda".
