'Aaptha Mithra' album doing brisk sales
Apr 5, 2005 R.G. Vijayasarathy, Apr 51. "Aaptha Mithra": The audio-cassette and CD sales of the film's music are set to create new records with around 2,500 to 3,000 sold every day. Two songs of the film, "Raa Raa" and "Pata Pata", are still chart-toppers.
2. "News": Though the film is going to be released in May, its songs, telecast on television channels, have already become extremely popular. Two songs - "Naanu Jithendra, Neenu Siridhevi" and "Prethi" - have become big hits. The film has Upendra in the lead with Reema Sen and Renuka Menon as heroines. Guru Kiran has scored the music. The Upendra-Guru combination has always got a huge response.
3. "Aham Premasmi": The film, slated for release next week, has its audio registering brisk sales. 'Crazy Star' Ravichandran, the film's makers, claims his audio company has already sold 400,000 audio-cassettes. Though the exact figures cannot be obtained, the album's popularity is obvious. The song "Pullinga" has become particularly popular.
4. "Varsha": This Vishnuvardhan-starrer, directed by S. Narayan and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, is a much-awaited film. The film's audio and CD, released three weeks ago, have done well because of the high quality of music director S. A. Raj Kumar's work. Three songs of the film - "Vasanthi Vasanthi", "Kanneerige Kanneereke" and "Ikku Maga" - have become popular.
5. "Ayya": The film is a box-office hit, but certainly not because of the music. Though the music director was none other than 'Crazy Star' Ravichandran, the song sequences were not a highlight of the film. Still, "Tabala Tabala" has become a hit.
