'The Dark Knight' breaks three-day box office record

Los Angeles, July 20 (IANS) "The Dark Knight", a sequel to "Batman Begins", has broken records by becoming the biggest three-day opener in the US box office history.
Perezhilton.com reports that the movie has already broken the record for the biggest midnight showing by earning $18.4 million going past "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith".
Starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger, the film has now also surpassed "Spider-Man 3", which made $59.8 million. It took over $66.4 million Saturday.
