Radcliffe to be honoured for helping gays

Los Angeles, March 22 (IANS) "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe will receive a special honour to raise awareness about suicide prevention among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youths.


The 21-year-old will be honoured with Hero award by the Trevor Project, an anti-suicide/support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender teenagers, for being "an inspiration to sexual minority youths".


"It's fantastic. The fact that they think of what I've done by promoting awareness of the Trevor Project itself and the issues that it works to promote and help is a great honour," contactmusic.com quoted Radcliffe as saying.


"I think that out of everything that I've done so far in my career, I think this is absolutely one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I'm associated with," he added.
