Shreyas Talpade in 'Home Sweet Home'

Mumbai, March 29 (IANS) Shreyas Talpade of "Iqbal" fame will make a guest appearance in Zee Smile's comedy show "Home Sweet Home" for an April Fool's Day special episode to be aired at 7.30 p.m. April 3 and 4.

Said Shreyas: "I am doing it for my friends. Both the producer and the director are my friends. They helped me a lot during my struggling days. Today everybody wants to reach the top and I am just trying to help my friends to be there."

Shreyas, who started his career on stage, has worked in television earlier and described the "Home Sweet Home" experience as wonderful.

"It was wonderful. It was more like reuniting with my old friends. I played myself in the serial. It was something similar to what Dharmendra-ji did in 'Guddi'."

The episode revolves around Kiku chacha who boasts about his old friendship with movie actor Shreyas Talpade to his nieces - Pooja, Aarti and Karishma. The story takes an unexpected turn when Shreyas turns out to be Kiku's college friend.

"I had this concept in mind for a long time and wanted someone with a startling screen presence to do this cameo. Shreyas and I are good friends and when I narrated the concept to him he was more than happy to be a part of it," said Paritosh Painter, producer of "Home Sweet Home".

The show is directed by Raminder Singh Suri.
