Shreyas goes for image makeover in 'Apna Sapna...'

Aug 20, 2006 Swati R. Chaudhary

Mumbai, Aug 20 (IANS) Director Sangeeth Sivan's "Apna Sapna Money Money" will see Shreyas Talpade in a different avatar - he looks stylish unlike his rustic, naive image in "Iqbal".

"I have a completely different look in the film. I have worked on my character, body language and looks thanks to my costume designer Falguni. She has done a great job."

For Shreyas, the transition from Iqbal to Arjun Fernandes was not easy.

"The 'Iqbal' impact was so strong that Sangeeth and Subhash-ji wanted to change it. It was entirely their idea. They wanted me to be Arjun Fernandes and not Iqbal. I am glad that people have noticed it and it has been appreciated."

"Apna Sapna...", produced by Subhash Ghai, is Shreyas' first commercial venture and he is upbeat about it, reports Bollywood Trade.

"I play Arjun Fernandes, a simple boy next-door kind of a fellow. He has a garage, loves people and is very attached to his colony friends. He always wants to see his friends happy and does all that he can.

"He falls in love with a woman played by Riya Sen but her father (Anupam Kher) doesn't want her to marry me because he thinks I'm a loafer. I then call my cousin, played by Riteish Deshmukh, to help me."

Working with an ensemble cast comprising Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Chunky Pandey, Riteish, Celina Jaitley, Koena Mitra and Riya must have been exciting.

"I mainly had scenes with Riya, Riteish, Koena and Anupam-ji. Suniel anna is a sweet guy. As for Jackie, I hardly had any scenes with him.

"Initially, I was scared and apprehensive since there were so many stars. But everyone encouraged and supported me. They made me comfortable and boosted my morale. Everyone on the sets happily accepted me and I enjoyed the whole process."
