Mumbai, April 8 (IANS) The Goa government is unhappy with the portrayal of the state in the promos of upcoming film "Dum Maaro Dum" and a Goan has approached court for its ban, but director Rohan Sippy is unperturbed and says he has not done anything wrong and has made the film responsibly.

"In India, I like the fact that everyone has a right to express themselves, like I have a right to make a film I believe in, others do have a right to voice their opinions. So it's okay. But we have not done anything wrong and we have made our film responsibly. I don't have anything in my film that I should worry about," Rohan told IANS.

The Panaji bench of the Bombay High Court Friday issued notices to the director and producers of the film over a petition seeking a ban on the film scheduled to be released April 22.

Justice S.C. Dharmadhikari and Justice F.M. Reis issued notices returnable by April 13, to film director Rohan, Ramesh Sippy Entertainment and Fox Star studios (both producers), Goa's chief secretary and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson on a plea by Savio Rodrigues.

Rodrigues alleged that the film featuring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone portrayed Goa and its women in bad light. He said the film would have an adverse impact on the state's tourism industry.

Meanwhile, Goa Tourism Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar has said that he would be taking up the issue of Goa's bad portrayal in the film, with its director.

"We are worried that Goa may be projected badly in the film. The industry and the government have worked very hard to build the reputation of Goa to what it is today. We will intervene. The chief minister and I will take up the issue with Sippy," Halarnkar said.

The makers decided to refrain from speaking on this topic.

Said Ramesh Sippy, the producer of the film: "I want to say that right now it's not right to comment on this but when people will see the film, their misunderstanding will reduce. It is not that we are showing Goa in bad light."

Both Sippys had come together to announce that "Dum Maaro Dum" will release with Dolby Surround 7.1, which will give an enhanced sound experience to the viewers.
