New Delhi, Oct 6 (IANS) Remember the Long Playing records (LP), which were a rage in the 1970s and 1980s? They are making a comeback with the music of forthcoming film 'Jhootha Hi Sahi', which is now being launched on the forgotten format.

After releasing the film's music on CDs, music label Saregama is trying to revive the old world charm by making the soundtrack of the John Abraham-starrer available on LP.

The music label has launched an LP after a gap of 13 years.

'Saregama has some of the oldest and best catalogues in the history of Bollywood. The last LP that we sold 13 years back was 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' in 1997. 'Jhootha Hi Sahi' music has a timeless, classic feel to it, so we got this innovative idea of bringing back the era of LP,' Apurv Nagpal, managing director, Saregama India Ltd, said in a press statement.

Oscar winner A.R. Rahman has composed the music of 'Jhootha Hi Sahi'.

Nagpal says the LP is getting a good response.

'We have already started getting great response for the 'Jhootha Hi Sahi' LP. John Abraham was the first to book an LP and a player. Soon we intend to cut other albums in the LP format,' he added.

The LP is available at music stores, and is priced at Rs.599. It can also be purchased online at www.saregama.com.

The company has also started retailing LP players through the website, in partnership with an international manufacturer, to boost the sales of LP.
