'Just Married' songs are enjoyable

Well-known music composer Pritam returns after "Dhoom 2" to create not the same 'dhoom' but a light-hearted soundtrack for Meghna Gulzar's second film "Just Married".

The film, starring Fardeen Khan and Esha Deol, has an impressive soundtrack though not the kind to keep an audience glued for a very long time.

"Baat Pakki" is peppy and fun at the same time. When a song is sung by Shaan, you wouldn't really expect it to go wrong and when combined with Neeraj Sridhar's vocals, the song is sure to turn out to be one entertaining number. And so the song does.

It's got a typical Pritam touch to it, the lyrics of which have been penned down by Gulzar. It gets you singing along and is quite a cheerful number.

"Baat pakki" has another version of it, which has more singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Mahalaxmi Iyer and Sukhwinder Singh on board. It is a lighter track and the collaboration of the five voices make up for the softer and slower pace of the instruments.

After listening to the energetic title song "Rang de basanti" in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's movie, it's a pleasant surprise to hear Daler Mehndi crooning soulful and emotional number "Doha". The bhangra king lends his voice to a song, which has a 'lost-in-thought' appeal to it.

Next one is "Gudgudee", a melodious track by none other than Sunidhi Chauhan. It is easy on the ears and Sunidhi's voice gives it a girly, romantic feel.

Somewhat, it seems that whenever a song is left entirely on Sunidhi, the outcome is worth mentioning. "Gudgudee" is just one of her appealing pieces.

Sonu Nigam croons next track "Jaagte raho", another romantic number but a remarkable one at that. The track is packaged with great instrumental notes, lovable lyrics and the 'ever-melodic' voice of Sonu.

Pritam has once again done a good job, but it's a track that wouldn't last long in the audiences' memory.

The song that best suits the title of the movie is "Ram milaye jodi". A totally catchy and peppy number adds excitement to the 'great Indian wedding' scenario being portrayed in the movie.

Sukhwinder, Shaan and Sunidhi return to add energy to the album. Right from the beginning, the loud instrumental notes pep up the track and make it a great dancing number for marriage parties.

This song is accompanied with a sadder, shorter and quite a 'let-down' remixed version titled "Ram milaye jodi" (Sad).

Pritam's attempt with "Just Married" doesn't really leave you bored but gives you an approximately 40 minutes of fun-loving and cheery music to make you go humming it for a day or so.
