'Jashnn' packs in peppy, soft numbers
Jun 17, 2009 Ruchika KherMusic composer duo Toshi-Sharib has created six originals and two remixes for the film.
"Aaya re", crooned by KK, starts off slowly but picks up pace and reaches its crescendo in no time. The composition has touches of rock and is a decent number. However, the lyrics could have been more appealing.
Next is "Aish Karle", which has the composers going behind the mike and starts with a few dialogues. Even though the lyrics are mediocre, the powerful music fills the gap.
"Dard-e-tanhai" is a soft rock number sung by Nouman Javaid. The song, which is slow-paced with the electric guitar in prominence, gives listeners a heard-before feeling. It also has a remixed version called the kilogram mix, which is nothing extraordinary.
"Main chala" can be described as the best song in the album. Beautifully sung by Nouman Javaid, the song is highly engaging and has acoustic guitar as the main musical instrument and it pulls at one's heart strings. The song is sure to appeal to music buffs, especially youngsters.
The song later arrives in a minute-long "unplugged version" and doesn't fail to make an impact.
Next comes "Nazrein karam". High on beats, the foot-tapping romantic number is sung by KK and Shreya Ghoshal. It is peppy but fails to impress.
This song too has a remixed version which has the potential to become a dance floor favourite.
Finally, there is "Tum Bin" with Shaan and Shreya. It is a soft, free-flowing romantic number and the singers make it hummable and easy on the ears.
On the whole, Toshi and Shabri have done a good job with the music and reinstated the fact that the Bhatts and quality music go hand-in-hand. Click the Movie button below for more info:
