New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) Joining the league of commercial Hindi films like "Road Movie", "Delhi-6", "What's Your Raashee?" and "Dil Bole Hadippa" being screened at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the latest one to gain entry at the fest is NFDC's Konkani film "The Man Beyond The Bridge".

Directed by National Award-winning Laxmikant Shetgaonkar, the Konkani feature film will be screened under the Discovery Section of the fest and will have a total of five screenings during the gala.

Produced by National Film Development Corporation of India, the movie is set against the forests of Goa-Karnataka border. "The Man Beyond The Bridge" is about Vinayak, a forest guard who lives a lonely life with just the memories of his dead wife in a government house.

One night, he finds a filthy, unkempt, mentally challenged woman lying in the compound outside his house and thus begins a conflict between a society that refuses to take responsibility of such a woman and one man's endeavour to integrate her in his life.

The 34th film festival, which runs from Sep 10 to 19, will feature more than 300 films, including 100 brand new movies, from 64 countries.
