I want Aamir uncle to be proud of me: Darsheel
May 14, 2010 Subhash K. JhaAamir has been regularly inquiring about "Bumm Bumm Bole", a remake of Majid Majidi's Iranian film "Children of Heaven", and has shown a keen interest in watching it.
"My parents have invited Aamir uncle to see the film. I really want him to see it, so he can be proud of me," Darsheel told IANS. "Aamir uncle came to my school for the release of the 'Taare Zameen Par' DVD. He also came home for dinner."
Darsheel is nervous about Aamir's reaction.
"In 'Taare Zameen Par', I was much smaller and very naughty. Aamir uncle removed (sic) every bit of the acting out of me. I didn't have to do anything. Now I'm 13. I'm taller, less naughty. In 'Taare…', I played a kid who was not at all like me. The boy in 'Bumm Bumm Bole' is quite similar to me. So I don't know how Aamir will react."
Darsheel says he referred to the relationship with his own sister to play the protective brother of Ziyah Vastani in "Bumm Bumm Bole".
"I've a sister. So playing the protective brother who can go to any extent to make his sister smile came naturally to me. While doing the film I realized how much I love my sister. I'd do anything for my sister," he said.
The story of the film, which released Friday, revolves around Khogiram (Atul Kulkarni), his wife (Rituparna Sen Gupta) and their children Pinu (Darsheel) and Rimzim (Zia) who live in a terror-affected region. The couple work on a tea plantation and it's a hand-to-mouth existence for them. Click the Movie button below for more info:
