Double role for Muzammil
Oct 20, 2007 Subhash K. JhaDirector Rakesh Sarang has just started shooting the film, which is apparently based on Shakespeare's "Comedy Of Errors". The acclaimed work has earlier been made on the silver screen by Gulzar in "Angoor", which had both Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma doing double roles.
"I play a very black and a very white character. And if I didn't have a veteran like Nana (Patekar) to guide me, I'd be as lost as I was on the sets of 'Dhokha' until Mahesh Bhatt saab arrived to show me the light. Doing a comedy and that too in a double role is as difficult as the serious role in 'Dhokha'," Muzammil, who debuted with Pooja Bhatt's "Dokha", told IANS.
Nana, who plays the pivotal part of a truck driver, has taken Muzammil and his co-star Rimi Sen under his wings. The young actor couldn't believe how supportive his senior actor could be.
"The minute he heard I was the same age as his son Malhar Nanaji, he took me under his wings. From that moment onwards doing comedy doesn't seem difficult."
This isn't the first time that Nana has taken a newcomer under his tutelage. Earlier, Nakul Vaid got the senior actor's full paternal treatment.
He not only got his first film 'Vadh' through Nana's recommendation, Nana also recommended Nakul in "Ab Tak Chhappan".
But Muzamil had a huge tiff with Pooja Bhatt on the sets of "Dokha" and Mahesh Bhatt had to intervene to maintain calm.
The atmosphere is far more pleasant on the sets of "Horn Ok Please", said the young actor.
"I wish I had started with something where the atmosphere was as light and easygoing. But I'll always remain grateful to the Bhatts (Mahesh and Mukesh)," he said.
