Divya had a gala time with Abhishek
Feb 22, 2009 IANS"Abhishek is my favourite actor. He is really endearing and naughty. I had a good time with him, playing cricket, being a prankster and enjoying the whole experience," Divya told IANS over telephone from Mumbai.
"Once I bought some kachauri and lassi while shooting in Rajasthan and he scolded me for getting so little. He then went and brought some for all of us. But the next day we were so guilty about gorging on the oily food that we straightaway hit the gym," she said.
The 31-year-old actress has been appreciated for her roles in films like "Baghban", "Veer Zaara", "Aaja Nachle" and "U, Me Aur Hum".
Divya shares screen space with acting greats like Waheeda Rahman, Om Puri and Rishi Kapoor apart from young actress Sonam Kapoor in the film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
So was she apprehensive about sharing the same frame with such big stars?
"I wasn't apprehensive at all. In fact I was lucky in a way to have worked with stalwarts. Acting is all about reacting so when you have such great actors working with you, that improves your acting prowess as well," she said.
Speaking about her unusually titled character Jalebi, Divya said she plays a firebrand woman.
"My character in 'Delhi-6' is as unusual as the name. I'm pretty kicked about my role since it's a mind-boggling character. I have mostly done very feminine roles but this one required me to have guy-to-guy talks," Divya said.
Preparing for the character was a task too.
"My character in the film is darker than I am and Jalebi sports a number of tattoos on her body. For this I had to be at the sets four hours before the others. I had to really work on my dialect because the language I speak is very different from that of the character. I also had to work on my body language," the actress added.
Divya has spent her childhood in Delhi and therefore she loved being associated with a film set in the capital city.
"It's fun to be a part of a film that revolves around Delhi - the place where I've spent my childhood. In fact, I would say I'm proud to be doing a film revolving around Delhi. I'm a complete foodie and I gorged on everything Delhi offers, especially from Chandni Chowk," Divya quipped.
