Casanovas change diapers in 'Heyy Babyy'
Aug 21, 2007 IANSSet in Australia, the film is apparently inspired by the hit Hollywood comedy "Three Men and a Baby". But Sajid, who earlier directed an episode for Ram Gopal Varma's "Darna Zaroori Hai", says his film has nothing to do with director Leonard Nimoy's comic caper.
How a baby changes the lifestyle of three confirmed bachelors is what the story is all about.
The tale of three Casanovas and their tryst with a baby goes like this:
Three bachelors, Arush (Akshay Kumar), Tanmay (Riteish Deshmukh) and Ali (Fardeen Khan), are settled in Sydney and having the time of their life.
Their jobs suit their temperaments too. Arush works in a nightclub and his only grouse is that there are so many women but so little time to enjoy them. Tanmay is an event organiser. His expertise lies in arranging parties for kids and he has a blast playing around with their mummies.
Last but not the least is Ali. He gambles for a living and grumbles that his biggest strength is his weakness for women.
Suddenly their dating and mating rituals are irreparably destroyed when an eight-month-old roommate lands up on their doorstep with her baggage - crib, pacifier and dirty nappy.
The three can charm a woman with a wink but when it comes to babies they are useless - this bouncing bundle of joy is therefore anything but joyous for them.
But then the baby works her charm and before long the three lecherous bachelors get transformed into loving, caring fathers.
But there is a twist in the tale. Beautiful Esha (Vidya Balan), who was duped by on of these guys, won't let the trio live peacefully. She will do anything to avenge the betrayal. And if it means breaking the hearts of three men who have finally discovered they possess one - too bad.
The music of "Heyy Babyy" is topping the charts, which is a good sign. It has to be seen how far it succeeds in entertaining the audience.
