Awards do not focus on talent: Sunny
Sep 12, 2006 Swati R. Chaudhary"Today's awards don't focus on good work and talent. Audience appreciation is what matters," said Sunny, who returned to marquee with "Naksha" after a long gap.
The actor was not going fast because of his back problem, which has hampered his career, but Sunny takes everything in his stride, reports Bollywood Trade.
"Everyone knows that I've been unwell for a long time. My back has been a hindrance but I've learnt to live with it. That's why the audience didn't see much of me lately.
"It's my ambition to do good, entertaining and meaningful films."
Right now he is working on a lot of scripts and looking forward to his forthcoming film "Apne", which is very close to his heart. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film has all the three Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby.
"'Apne' is about the joint family system. It is about the issues and happenings in a joint family. Some bitterness cropping up in the family doesn't mean that people don't love each other. It has boxing as its backdrop," said Sunny, who has developed an emotional bonding with the film.
And what's next on the cards?
"There's 'Fool And Final', 'Kaafila' and 'Challenge' coming up."
