Akshaye hurts his back, shooting halted

Mumbai, Sep 30 (IANS) The shooting of Rumi Jaffrey's political satire "Gali Gali Mein Shor Hai" came to a halt in Bhopal last week when the film's leading man Akshaye Khanna hurt his back.

When contacted, Akshaye dismissed the injury as a muscle pull saying: "I was shooting when it happened. I have to take rest for ten days. Very sad. But what to do? Doctors' orders. It's a spasmodic pain. But I might as well rest it out."

Akshaye is the third actor after Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar to have injured his back during shooting.

Jaffrey said: "Yes, Akshaye hurt his back. And we had to postpone the shooting in Bhopal for three weeks. We are back in Mumbai. But we resume shooting from Oct 10. By then Akshaye's back would hopefully be repaired."

When probed about how Akshaye hurt himself Jaffrey said: "It wasn't an action sequence. Just a normal shot. Akshaye kept shooting.
