Muthina Kathirikaa director Venkat talks about his film

At a time when horror thrillers rule the roost in Tamil cinema, here comes a political parody Muthina Kathirikka which is a remake of the Malayalam film Vellimoonga. Sundar C will be seen as a middle-aged bachelor in this film where Poonam Bajwa will play his love interest. Former assistant of Sundar, Venkat Raghavan will direct this film.

Venkat says, “It is not a frame-to-frame remake of Vellimoonga. We have just taken the premise from it and added local flavor to suit the Tamil audience”.

He furthers, “The film will be a clean comedy and a family entertainer. I always believe in narrating a serious issue through comedy. Though a political satire, it is not against politicians. In colloquial terms, we call a man Muthina Kathirikka when he has crossed his prime and is still unmarried.
