"Kadhalna Summa Illai" means "Love isn't just anything". Though some parts of the movie are recycled from Telugu hit "Gamayam", sizeable portions have been re-shot by director Ilangkannan with apt Tamil nativity that blend into the proceedings smoothly.

The entire aptly selected cast live the roles. Sans violence and glamour, the film enthralls, thanks to spirited performances by Sharavanand and Kamilini.

Its having been released with almost zero publicity except through the television channel owned by the producers of this partly-remade venture is another factor in the film's favour in the realm of covering costs.

The film revolves around a rich guy Abhiram (Sharavanand) who splits from his fiancee Dr Janaki (Kamilini Mukherjee) because he feels they are not compatible. But later Abhiram realises that life without his girl isn't worth living and starts a two-wheeler bound journey to find her.

A petty thief Vetri Velu (Ravi Krishna) joins Abhiram as his pillion rider.

The duo have zero similarities, but the endeavour completely changes Abhiram's outlook.

Ravi, Sharavanand and Kamilini have given stunning performances. Known for their terrific sense of timing and improvisation, Ganja Karuppu and M.S. Bhasker have provided hilarious comedy.

The climax shot in the forests of Andhra Pradesh is thrilling.

Ilangkannan's direction is superb. Though two music directors have been accorded credits, neither the songs nor the background score is worth writing home about.

Vincent's cinematography embellishes the value of this shoe-string budget film with beautiful visuals.
