Kanichu Kulangarayil CBI Malayalam Movie
For those who haven't yet seen Kanichukulangarayil CBI and plan to see it, here's a word of caution. The film is supposed to be an investigative thriller, but thrill is the last thing it offers. In fact it's a film that does not offer anything worth your money. If you have nothing worthwhile to do, better close your eyes and get some sleep rather than waste your time and money watching this one.
Ajith and Suresh are the proprietors of a financial firm named Aanamala Chit Funds, which has earned for itself the goodwill and reputation of the people, who believe that their investments are safe with the firm. Ratheesh, who is the Managing Director of Aanamala Chit Funds, is the person who had, through his sincerity and hard work, taken the firm to such heights. But when he finds that both Ajith and Suresh are involved in all kinds of shady deals, he resigns.
Advocate Rahim, who is the legal advisor of Aanamala Chit Funds, stands by Ratheesh, who begins a new financial firm, which flourishes in all respects. And then one day the car in which Ratheesh is travelling is hit by a truck at Kanichukulangara. Ratheesh and his sister are killed, while the driver survives. Based on the statement given by the driver, the Police, led by Dy.S.P James George, begin investigations.
It's evident that Ajith and Suresh were behind Ratheesh's killing. But a police officer named Krishnagopal who is there with the team sides with the baddies. In the meantime Advocate Rahim instigates people to clamor for a proper investigation into the case. It's then that Inspector Arjun of the CBI makes his entry. Arjun and James George then jointly do the investigations and crack the case.
Almost all the actors - Manoj K. Jayan as Arjun, Saikumar as Ajith, Meghanathan as Suresh, Saadique as Ratheesh, Rajan P. Dev as Krishnagopal and Kollam Thulasi as Advocate Rahim - are totally unimpressive. The only one who seems to have delivered a tolerable performance is Suresh Krishna as James George. Lakshmi Sharma, who plays Susan, an employee at Aanamala Chit Funds, has nothing much to do. Rashmi Boban, in the role of Ratheesh's sister, is not bad though.
The technical aspects are extremely poor. The lone song, which is far from impressive, could have been avoided. The background score too is unimpressive. Why the makers opted to use the signature tune of CBI Diarykurippu in this movie goes beyond understanding. The writer should at least have cared to present the investigation part somewhat convincingly. An utter waste, that's what it is!
