Hatrick Hero Shivaraj Kumar plays a good Samaritan's role again in Bandhu Balaga, a sentimental family drama which does not offer ny fresh element in its story. However Bandhu Balaga directed by Naganna may impress the audience who looks for some good family drama and family oriented sequences in films.

Director Naganna who enjoys a better rate of success in some of his action oriented films has delivered a neat product devoid of violence and double meaning dialogues which have very much become a norm these days. Bandhu Balaga holds lot of interest with the audience with its faster narration and many interesting elements that is seen in the second half. And the film's musical strength carries the film upwards.

There are a lot of sentimental sequences in the film which are bound to impress the female audience on whom the film is targeted. The first half of the film has some lighter moments and the story starts moving from the word go. The second half moves in a faster pace, though it does contain some sequences which are quite unnecessary for the film.

Naganna has extracted some good work from the artists and technicians of the film. Music director Hamsalekha has given his best shot in the film with good songs including the title song, Ninna Bittu Naanu and Maduve Andhare Sambhrama. Ramesh Babu provides excellent results working behind the camera. Shaam's editing and Keshava Adithya's dialogues gel with the film.

However there are negative points in the film which could have been avoided. The so called comedy sequences that come in the second half are a big yawn. There are many sequences in the film which feature the villainous brothers of the hero are done in a haphazard manner.

Subramanya lives in his village along with his sister and he is hugely popular because of his deeds of helping people in distress. Subramanya is the illegitimate son of a rich man who realizes his mistake and shares the property to all his sons from his legally wedded wife and also his second wife. The legitimate sons who live abroad come back to the city to sell the ancestral property. The family advocate tells them that if they want to usurp the property belonging to Subramanya, they have to take his signature on the sale documents. The three brothers use all coercive methods to get Subramanya's signature on property papers, but they fail in their attempts. Subramanya puts in some conditions that he will sign the papers only if all his brothers and family members come to his house and be part of his sister's marriage celebration. The greedy brothers finally agree to be part of his family. The brothers are joined by their family members in the village and the story takes a turn to the better with brothers realizing the greatness of Subramanya. Finally the family is united.

Hatrick Hero Shivaraj Kumar has once again worked hard in this sentimental role. Some of the sequences will certainly make you weep also. In some ways the performance of Shivaraj Kumar will remind you of his previous blockbusters like Tavarige Baa Thangi, Anna Thangi and Tavarina Siri. He once again proves that he is the loving brother in Bandhu Balaga. Tejaswini plays the sister's role perfectly. Heroines Poonam Kaur and Jyothirmayee shine in the song sequences. Shashi Kumar, Dharma, Harish Raj, Doddanna, Swarna, Hema Choudhary perfectly fit in the roles they play.

Keshava Audithya has written some touching dialogues in the film.
