Ganesha Kannada Movie
To expect a hundred percent clean film from a product featuring Jaggesh may be like asking for too much. Unfortunately a talented actor like Jaggesh was seen more in films of some cheap comedy and double meaning dialogues. But Jaggesh has changed his tracks now and is trying to bring out best of him in variety of roles. This has given more opportunities for many talented directors to try out and experiment with Jaggesh. Dinesh Baboo has experimented in his own novel way with Jaggesh in his new film Ganesha that is certainly an entertaining and a clean film. And Baboo has depended again on his regular and trusted actor Anant Nag in this film that stands out for its narration. There is a good blend of comedy and emotional elements in the film that is certain to strike the chord among the audience.
Dinesh Baboo deserves full credit for making this thoroughly enjoyable film despite its limited budget. He has selected a story that does not need a big technical back up and there are no photographical or musical gimmicks in the film as seen in many of the recent films. But with a good script Ganesha becomes an engaging fare and the presence of talented artists like Jaggesh, Anant Nag, Sharan and Rangayana Raghu has ignited lot of comedy fire works in the film. And the Baboo touch can be seen in some emotional sequences in the film.
The story revolves around Ganesha, a middle class bachelor who is already in deep debts. He wants to sell off his ancestral property to come out of the debt trap. But his father had extracted a promise from Ganesha that the property will not be sold under any circumstances. Ganesha wants to break this promise, but he finds that his dead father comes as a ghost to create bottlenecks for the sale. An exasperated Ganesha now finds another problem surrounding his neck. He will have another responsibility to save his sister born out of his father's second wife that leads to many complicated situations.
Jaggesh has excelled in the role of Ganesha and he has proved that he will shine well if given an opportunity to work with a good director and in films backed by good scripts. His timing is superb. Despite Anant Nag has matched Jaggesh in every aspect and enlivens with his expressions and dialogues. Sharan comes out good in his brief role. He will certainly move ahead in days to come. Ajay, Rangayana Raghu, Vanitha Vasu and Sharan have delivered strong performances.
Dinesh Baboo is a cameraman himself, but it is surprising that the technical standard of this film is just above average. Musical composition work is also ordinary. Ganesha is an entertaining and clean film with competent performances by Jaggesh and Anant Nag. Watch it.
