Bhajantrilu is another attempt to make an out and out comedy movie with all the comedians in the cast. The peak point of the movie is when the screen drops finally. The weak script and the poor direction give very few opportunities to laugh heartily. But that's tolerable. In comparison to senseless violence it's better to watch some comic scenes even though do not evoke laughter. In case of violent movies the headache lingers even after you are out of the theatres. After all making people laugh is a difficult thing.

Bhajantrilu starts off on a comic note. Shivaji and Vikram kidnap a would-be-bride (Sushmita). They demand 10 lakhs from her father (Kota Srinivasa Rao). But her father is such a scumbag that he refuses to shell out a single dime. Sushmita likes her kidnappers for their good nature and soon falls in love with Shivaji. They narrate their reasons for becoming kidnappers. Sushmita advises them to ask for more money from her father and expresses her unwillingness to go back to home. She fears that her father would get her married to some unworthy person.

All the comedians – Ali, Sunil, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, M S Narayana, AVS, L B Sriram, Krishna Bhagwan and Venumadhav are there in the movie. Each is a great comedian but the story is so shallow that the jokes do not come good.

Biggest factor is Shivaji is not performing the way he used to do in his initial days. He is not that old in the industry. Besides, an odd looking body doesn't help the cause of a hero even if its comedy flick.

This is not to mean that Bhajantrilu doesn't have any good comedy scenes. There are a few good scenes, but the bad scenes far out number the good ones.
