Milana does not offer any thing fresh in the way of the story or its narration. The film has a story which has been rehashed from many successful films. But still the film is appealing mainly because of some good performances from artists, a hilarious comedy plot and the characterization of the film's hero Puneet Raj Kumar. Set in an urban milieu the film certainly has a feel good fragrance in the narration. In a way the film's director Prakash has followed the same type of narration of his most successful films like Kushi and Rishi.

Milana is well mounted and carries a modern and trendy feel. Its hero Akash is a popular RJ and is highly progressive and modern in his thinking. He does not feel let down by the problems in his life, but wants to take everything in his stride and face it. It looks as if the screenplays writers have been inspired by the lead roles of Telugu film Arya while working on the characterization of the film's hero. Even the film's basic plot has been inspired by Mani Rathnam directed Mouna Raagam. In that way the film's script does not have any fresh element. But it is to the credit of director Prakash to have narrated the film with a style and pace that is impressive.

Prakash takes the cake in many emotional sequences and also in the comedy sequences featuring two best known talented artists Raghu and Chandru. The song shot of Ninnidhale Ninnidhale stands out.

Milana starts off with an arranged marriage Aakash and Anjali. Aakash realizes that Anjali was forced into wedlock by her father, but she still wants to be with Hemanth with whom she had a love affair. The couple agrees for a divorce albeit with a mutually acceptable proposal. Later Anjali meets Hemanth who had run away after being threatened by her father. Aakash tries everything to get Anjali and Hemanth united, but in the process the estranged wife realizes his 24 carat character. What happens next is too well known for the film audience.

Puneet Raj Kumar has shown lot of maturity in his performance these days. He excels in the role of Aakash in Milana. Malayalam actress Parvathi has cute looks and she delivers a sound performance. Dileep Rai in the role of Hemanth is good. Rangayana Raghu and Sihi Kahi Chandru have competed with each other to give the best comedy feast to the audience.

Music director Mano Murthy has two good tunes in the film. Ninnindhale Ninnidhale and Male Nintha Mele are two god tunes. Krishna Kumar's cinematographic work is top class.

Milana is a well made film, but the story content has been seen many times before. But it is a good watch for the family audience.
