Bhoothnath Hindi Movie
Directed by debutant director Vivek Sharma 'Bhootnath' is about a friendly ghost and his relationship with a small kid and producer Ravi Chopra claims it has something in it for every generation. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan and Aman Siddiqui in lead roles along with Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance.
This is a story of a seven-year-old naughty yet innocent boy, who unknowingly turns a foe into a friend. This is a story of Banku (Aman Siddiqui) and his friend, Kailash Nath aka Bhoothnath (Amitabh Bachchan).
Banku's family (SRK, Juhi Chawla) comes to live in a mansion in Goa, considered haunted after the demise of the patriarch of the family. The spirit uses every rule in the book to scare the kid, but the kid is unaffected by it all. Slowly, a bond develops between the two. The story takes a turn when Kailash Nath's son (Priyanshu) decides to sell off the mansion.
Director Vivek Sharma concentrates more on the content rather than glitz, glamour and item numbers. The result clearly shows on screen. The movie starts off as a ghostly tale but soon shifts gears and is more about the relationship between Bhoothnath and Banku. The director handles the scenes between Amitabh and young Aman brilliantly. The second half drags a bit in places, mostly because of the lackluster music by Vishal - Shekar. A song from both the first and second half should be edited off as they act as speed breakers. The cinematography is superb. The special effects add to the value of the movie.
Coming to the performances the movie belongs to Amitabh Bachchan and Aman Siddiqui. Both deliver super performances and their chemistry itself is worth the price of the movie ticket. Juhi Chawla makes you laugh at times, she's good. Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance is okay. Satish Shah is superb, extremely funny at times. Rajpal Yadav has a small role and he does well.
To sum things up, Bhoothnath works on every level although the music is disappointing. Go for it, you wont be disappointed.
