Drona clearly lacks soul to be a superhero / fantasy film.

Drona directed by Goldie Behl is a fantasy superhero film with a prolific cast - Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon and Jaya Bachchan. Goldie and Abhishek promise that the movie is one of its kinds and has the potential to appeal to audience across all ages. Featuring hundreds of top notch special effects and various Indian martial art forms, will Drona find a place for itself in the history of superheros? Can Drona become a sensation like Krrish did with kids?

All of us are here for a special reason and so is Adithya (Abhishek Bachchan). Drona is Adithya's story. It's about the journey that he embarks on to understand the true destiny of his life. Sonia (Priyanka Chopra) is his body guard and his companion in this adventurous journey. Riz Raizada, a magician is the evil who wants to conquer the world by defeating Drona and breaking his task.

Kudos to Goldie for having ventured into a genre less chosen by Bollywood directors, but making a superhero film is no child's play. A decent engrossing script and the optimum interpretation of the same make the difference.

Drona clearly lacks soul to be a superhero / fantasy film. The movie lies on a wafer thin and totally defective plotline that is weakly narrated. A very important aspect of such flicks is in fact the characterization and Drona falls short here too. A back-story that explains the circumstances by which the character acquires his abilities and motivation for becoming a superhero is hasty and dire. So is the portrayal of the characters, the power and the repercussion of both the good and bad is not defined. Our super hero here doesn't have a strong story to back-up his physical prowess nor does he have an equally magnificent evil to fight with, here the villain is funny and less daunting. Another reason why the movie fails to grab your attention is the lack of connection and continuity between two scenes. And the list is endless… The movie is drags and songs just don't fit anywhere into the reel and have no significance whatsoever.

Taking its root from Indian mythology, Drona had the scope and the command to become a great superhero but unfortunately disappoints. Special effects were wonderful but lost its charm in this irrational film.

Abhishek Bachchan just doesn't have the personality to carry the image of a superhero. He is wretched in his expressions. Priyanka Chopra's is the saving grace. She in fact carries the action sequences better than Abhishek. Jaya Bachchan is good. The potential artist, Kay Kay is wasted in this clownish evil role.

Drona is one of the worst movies of the year!
