Lee Tamil Movie

The story is about a world-class professional football player and his travails. He is made a victim of corruption among his mentors and kept out of the field. How he faces the problems as a cast-away is the crux of the story.

Veteran actor Sathyaraj's son Sibiraj plays the lead role. Pairing with him is Nila, who made her debut in S.J. Suryah's "Anbe Aaruyire".

Prakashraj is given an important role as a football coach. Zahir, who plays the villain in Ram Gopal Varma's films, is making his debut in Tamil through "Lee".

According to Prabhu Solomon, who directed the film, though Sibi plays a footballer, the movie is not about the sport. "It is an action-thriller," he says and adds, "The whole crew has worked hard and Prakash Raj especially has done a fabulous job."

Rajesh Yadhav has handled the camera. The locations included Chennai, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil areas. A major portion of the movie has been shot in the busy roads of bustling Chennai.

The audio was released at a function on Jan 25 (the birthday of D. Imman, who scored the music for the film) Speaking at the function, Imman said he was happy to work for the film as he and Sibi studied plus-1 and Plus-2 together. He said all the songs came out very well and they "are tasty".

Sathyaraj described "Lee" as "ultra-modern" like any latest English film.

Nila expressed confidence that the film would do 'wonders' at the box office. "Lee" is the first film to be produced by Sathyaraj under the banner of 'Nathambal Film Factory, named after his mother.

Director Prabhu Solomon became famous with his action flick "Kokki". The story, screenplay and dialogue are also by Prabhu Solomon.

A lot of thought has gone into giving the film a pure Tamil name. Nearly 300 titles were considered and finally the title "Lee" was selected as the hero's name is Leeladharan. Sibi's character as Leeladharan is different from the earlier ones he had portrayed. He had to alter his looks and grow long hair and beard.

Sibiraj has already acted in a couple of movies, but "Lee" is special for him. He has to compete with his father, a veteran actor with 175 films under his belt, who plays the lead role in 'Periyar", which is expected to be released simultaneously with "Lee" next week.
