Veyyil Tamil Movie
If you want to watch one movie which can talk to you in form of emotions, feelings and touch your soul, here is a movie. Resplendent with relationship values and sufferings of a family, this is a beautifully carved movie shot among scenic locations in Tamil Nadu.
There have been many movies in the past which has highlighted relation between mother and son, father and son and a husband-wife relation, but seldom have you got to see movies which highlight a brother-brother relation. Shankar has dauntlessly touched this subject and has done nothing less than an exuberantly emotional film with excellent screenplay and story line.
The story is focused on Murugesan (Pasupathy) who is the son of a butcher. He has a younger brother Kadir (Bharat) who he plays pranks with and they share a very good rapport. They walk around the small town with streaming waters, arid sun and indulge in a lot of mischievous things. One day, Murugesan goes for a movie and smokes a beedi. His father comes to know about it and goes to the movie hall and drags him mercilessly. Murugesan lies stripped with his hands and feet tied outside the house in scorching sun- A price for his audacity to indulge in such malicious behavior. He begs his father to pardon him, much in vain. His friends tease him the next day at his plight.
Murugesan steals money from house, some jewelry and runs away from home. On the way he gets strayed away and loses his money. He is left penniless and cries, not knowing what to do. Taking pity on him, a person gives him job in cinema theatre. He work hard, makes a living. Here he falls in love with a girl Thangam. Soon, the villagers come to know about this and Thangam's father attempts to murder him. Between all this, Thangam slits her throat and ends her life. Soon, the theatre shuts down and life ends for Murugesan.
He cries like he lost everything. Amidst all this, he remembers his father, mother and brother. The old man who gave the job tells him to go back to his home but Murugesan is unsure as he doesn't know whether his family will accept him after 20 long years. With skepticism, he goes back but his dad shuns him. As he goes back, he meets Kadir and tells him that he is his long lost brother and hugs him. Tears flow. Emotional drama, love and affection are portrayed here.
Kadir has an advertising company and has flourished. There is a little bit of romance too in the story as Meenakshi (Bhavna) enters Kadir's - A sweet tale of love which is there for a short stint of time. Kadir has competitors who are after him. He pulls back his brother home though his father discards him. There is happiness in the family once again. His mother showers him with care and love. Though his sisters and father reject him, he stays in the house for his brother. He meets his childhood sweetheart Pandi (Shriya Reddy) again and here again he bolsters support to her. Murugesan opens his feelings to Pandi and she keeps him happy.
As things go fine, one day Murugesan is accused of a robbery. Rest of the movie is about the things happen around Mugurgesan and Kadir.
Veyyil is a beautiful movie with excellent star cast and great performance from Bharat and Pasupathy. The lyrics of the songs add to the beauty of the movie.
A realistic ending to a very powerful storyline. The movie was one of the best made movies recently and has a touch of class to it. The music is very soothing and a superb attempt from A.R. Rehman's nephew, G.V. Prakash. If you have a taste for good cinema, Veyyil is a must watch movie.
Splendid. Definitely award winning.
