Jayakrishnan belongs to a family that has for long been associated with fine arts. His mother runs Kalakshethra, an institution that teaches music and dance. Hailing from this background, Jayakrishnan lands in the rough and tumble of urban living. He charts his own course, giving little thought to feelings or relationships. He has to confront a major mafia that includes Police Commissioner Devarajan, Police Superintendent Abraham Koshi, Circle Inspector Sarath Chandran and Crime Branch Officer Swaminathan. The youngster who has been pitted against the high and the mighty uses his wits as in a game of chess to counter his opponents.
Chess has Dileep in the lead role as Jayakrishnan, playing opposite to Bhavana who does the role of an MBBS student. The film is the debut directorial venture of Raj Babu who has worked as associate to several directors in Malayalam cinema. The film, which is being produced under the banner of Superstar Films, will be released by Manjunath films.
