Nee Venunda Chellam Tamil Movie
AP Film Garden's "Nee Venunda Chellam" grossly fails to impress. It is a collection of cliches and the performance of the lead actors are not up to the mark. However it is Thilakan who makes a mark with a brilliant and measured performance as the vengeful father of the heroine. He ensures that this drama works as well as it does.
The film is watch-able by parts and on the whole is not worth the tariff and more important the time.
Here goes the story…
Kannan (Ramesh) see Geetha (Gajala), who happens to be his friend's neighbor. After several encounter with her, Kannan falls in love with her. To convey his love interest, Kannan sends her a letter. At that time, little does he realize that Geetha is the daughter of Viswanathan (Thilakan), a cynical and vengeful man.
Viswanathan gets hold of this letter and finds out that the person who had written it is none other than the one who humiliated him sometime ago. He decides to wreck his vengeance on him. Viswanathan passes this note to Anjali (Namitha), the fiancée of a notorious don in town. Anjali on her part devices schemes to destroy Kannan's love affair.
How Kannan cruises ahead, thwarting Anjali's attempts to fail his love forms the remaining part of the story.
Ramesh is impressive in dance and action sequence. However, he must improve in his diction and dialogue delivery (especially in comic scenes) to establish himself as true hero.
Gajala looks gorgeous and has lent an excellent support to Ramesh as his love interest. Namitha suitably embodies as the girl from the hell. If not for anything else, her oomph factor will make you glued to your seats. Vivek's comedy tracks make you grin at times.
Music director Dina's songs are pleasing to the ears. L.Venkatesan's direction is melancholic and he seems to have lost his focus in the second half of the movie.
