Bazooka, the directorial debut of Deeno Dennis, attempts a stylish gaming-thriller hybrid powered by the evergreen presence of Mammootty. Critics unanimously acknowledge the film’s high production values, visual flair, and the lead actor’s undeniable charisma. However, style alone can’t mask the film’s core issues — an underdeveloped script, disjointed screenplay, and lackluster narrative progression. The premise involving heists tied to the gaming world is fresh but falters in execution, offering more gloss than grit. The final act garners some praise for picking up momentum, but it’s a case of too little, too late.
Verdict:
A sleek and swanky thriller that banks heavily on Mammootty’s charisma, but is ultimately bogged down by patchy writing and uneven storytelling. A missed opportunity that shines only in moments.
